"I would be very wary of using State farm my use them for multiple years and I've had nothing but issues me the auto-pay keeps screwing up and I'm getting charged $50 charges monthly. meanwhile my insurance rates have ballooned every 6 months from originally paying $97 a month to $177 a month. the app does not work well it constantly locks me out the autopay keeps making mistakes I've spoken with the credit card company and they don't understand why but I keep getting charged $50 every time. I've called State farm and it requested to cancel my insurance and they refused to cancel it and tell Matt McCoy opens on Monday but I'm going to be charged $177 on Sunday. the safe drive program is malfunctions and constantly stops working. the top this off I've had issues with their employees on the phone from the local office as well. I would be very careful about dealing with this insurance company."

"Home Insurance and auto insurance is still expensive. But they are cheaper, in most places."

"I have been with State Farm since I was 16 years old and HAD the absolute best service with my former agent who retired last year. Never once, in the 36 years that I’ve been with State Farm, have I ever thought about moving my business until now. I decided to choose Matt McCoy’s office because I live so close. We recently purchased a new vehicle and need to add coverage for it. I went to the office two days before purchasing the vehicle and provided all the details for the car. I have tried calling them three times to confirm we purchased the vehicle (it was an out of state transaction and we weren’t buying until driving the vehicle first) but can’t get anyone to return my calls. Very disappointing and not a great first impression! I should have read the reviews first before selecting this office. Apparently I’m not the only one who has had this problem. If you want my business call me back. Update: received a call from Matt McCoy shortly after posting this review. He stated he was away with family for Spring Break but does have 14 associates working for him so no excuse not to get a return call. He was extremely apologetic and had Anna call me immediately after we hung up. Received my temp cards within minutes of hanging up with her. Changed my rating to a 3 and we’ll see how things go. Started off a bit rocky but hopefully we’ll have better customer service moving forward! New update: after 38 years of coverage with State Farm, I made the decision to switch. I got a quote from another provider and am now saving over $400 / month on my auto (even increased my coverage!) and a little over $100 / month on my homeowners insurance. I have been overpaying for years. I know this is my fault for not looking into this sooner, but I mistakenly felt a sense of loyalty to State Farm. When I canceled my auto and homeowners policies, I immediately got the refund to send to my mortgage company to put back in escrow. I canceled in August and it has taken me 3 phone calls to Matt McCoy’s office to find out where my refund is for my auto policies. FINALLY today I was told I would get an email within the next few days and just need to let them know how to send the refund. I guess they were too busy to check on my refund the last two times I called. Not sure why I would even have to wait to get an email either. I had no problem getting the refund check in the mail from the homeowners policy. I changed my score back down to one star mainly because of the lack of service I received as a long standing client. While the person I spoke to today was pleasant and actually took the time to call the billing department, I should not have had to chase down my refund that should have been sent months ago. I also told her how disappointed I was in State Farm and their service and she acted as if she could care less. I guess that’s what we get now days. Do your homework people and shop around. I wish I had done it years ago."

"They refused to pay my claim and fix my vehicle after dragging it out for 3 months. They were absolutely horrific and insulting. Calling me a liar and refusing my claim. Do not use State Farm, use anyone else!"

"I had an excellent experience working with Terri. My initial call was due to an increase in premium due to a recent accident that resulted in a loss of the Accident Free Discount. Terri very diligently explained how the rate increase was being applied. She then reviewed the policy and found that we might have more coverage than we needed in one area. She thoroughly explained how we could lower our premium and still have adequate coverage. I agreed with the change she presented. We ended up with the monthly premium being less than what it had been before the loss of the Accident Free Discount. Terri was great to work with."
